Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. Her first assignment with ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been since her age of nine. The ability to speak two languages has helped her get her first job with Univision, Miami. She was able to work with national producers on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then it was announced that the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. She was also frequently asked to serve as a sports or weather anchor. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. Then, she became the sports host for the morning show that is Despierta America Deportes. The same role she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. She has a sister. In 1992, the family relocated to Miami after relocating to Mexico into the US. After a while the family split up, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. In June of 2006, she spent one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta was a senior in high school but she knew exactly what career path she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta visited the school. At the end of the day she fell in love with the campus. They also offered her a the opportunity to study a major. She completed her schooling and was accepted into the University with a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for many years, became her friend. The professor encouraged her to be confident and was greatly moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
